L.E. Modesitt’s The Towers of the Sunset isn’t a new release, but I have tried to read the Recluse Saga somewhat in chronological order. I thought that this story about the founding was very good, perhaps on of the better in the series. Some of the post-founding books tend to be slight formulaic, but not the pre-founding books. They are all different and from a totally different point of view than the Recluse-centric books.

I highly suggest reading all of the Recluse Saga, but this book ranks near the top of the list.
