First, I must admit that I am not an archaeologist. I don’t even play one on TV. This reminds me of the anachronym IANAL.

This is old news now, but I still find it amusing. The biggest argument I see against Mr. Cameron’s revelation (did he get gold tablets too?!) is that real archaeologists have known about this for 10 years. Their opinion? They say “Who cares? If this had any validity, it would have been announced and fully researched years ago.” Others think that the ancient semitic script may have even been deciphered incorrectly.

It is good humor though, and as one other archaeologist said, “It makes for good TV.”
