I’ve been reading Feld Thoughts for some time. I try to keep tabs on the VC and startup community, even though I’m no longer in the start up grind. I definitely have the entrepreneurial attitude, but nickel diving isn’t my thing.

I was reading his blog entry today about his efforts to sponsor a bathroom. He has a fascination with bathrooms–but I’m not going there.

After first approaching MIT and getting turned down, the University of Colorado-Boulder decided that money is money, and why not a bathroom. The sponsorship plaque reads “The Best Ideas Often Come At Inconvenient Times – Don’t Ever Close Your Mind To Them.”

I love the saying, but I personally feel that this plaque would be better served in showers. I don’t know where or in which showers a university would place such a plaque, but it would be perfect in my shower at home. Most of my best ideas originate in the shower and I’ve been tempted to install a voice recorder or some sort of waterproof white board (do they even make such a thing?  Email me if you know of one.) in the shower to help capture those top-line thoughts.

So congrats on the sponsorship Brad. I’m sorry, but I won’t be offering $25k on any of the other 7 bathrooms at CU.
