In today’s DOTD report, I have two separate cases of police officers totally lacking in brains. In the first case, I believe it was caused by a lack of blood flow to the brain, and in the second case, it was caused by too much blood flow.

Case 1: A drunk girl comes into the police station, clearly with beer goggles on and tries to have a little fun.

She was the passenger in a car that was pulled by Illinois state police. The driver was arrested for drunk driving, and she didn’t have a ride. The was she was acting, she may have been looking for a different type of ride. Regardless of her goggles, the police offers–all male I should add–clearly weren’t thinking very clearly. They were all on camera. They took lots of pictures, had a few touchy-feely moments, took their own pictures, etc.

All I can say is, What a bunch of dumbasses!–coprocephalics even. You don’t pull a woman’s skirt up and rub her ass on camera, at least not in a police station. It just goes to show that people forget that they’re on camera and do things anyway.

As punishment, 1 offer was fired, 1 resigned, and 4 were put on some sort of probation or administrative leave. Of course, that’s nothing compared to what they’re going to face at home.

Next up on the list of trusted law enforcement is a female officer from DeKalb county. Allegedly–and admittedly–she used a police crime information database to dig up details about her ex-husband’s new lover. While this is no Scarlett Letter, it is still pretty horrendous. Many have argued against having that much information available without a warrant or other court-approved vehicle. This officer signed an agreement with the county saying that she acknowledged that it was a crime to use this database for non-police work. But is she getting thrown behind bars?! Of course not. What were you thinking? She is getting 5 weeks leave, probably unpaid but the article doesn’t really say.

It is the few police officers like the ones mentioned above that cause the sometime lack of trust in our public protectors. At least in the first article, people were fired even though there was only sheer stupidity. In the second case, it was criminal and she wasn’t fired. It makes no sense to me.
